Clifton Scientific Trust is a Registered Charity established in 1991 to promote excellence and relevance in science through student participation in open-ended programmes of real scientific exploration and application, what they call Science for Real. In 2001 the original Trust incorporated to form a new charitable company which works with young people of all ages and abilities enabling them to share the experience of Science for Real, using science to address real problems in the real world. Science here is taken to include its many applications in such fields as technology and engineering.
Clifton Scientific Trust is a Member of STEMNET and of the Parliamentary and Scientific Committee.
Clifton Scientific Trust builds innovative grass-roots partnerships between the world of professional science and its applications and the experience of young people in school

- experiencing science as a creative, questioning, human activity
- bringing added relevance and motivation from primary to post-16
- locally, nationally and internationally
Locally their Meet-a-Medic and related programmes, where pupils engage with medical professionals, works currently mainly with Primary Schools.
Nationally and Internationally their award-winning UK-Japan Young Scientist Programme brings post-16 students to live and work together in small teams with professional scientists and give public presentations of their achievements.
